28 Played for 2 hours went from 250 to 180
29 From 180 to $0 sweet
Ok. So my roll went from $3500 to $0 by not making any $ in 5 weeks.
So I'm broke. I have $500 to my name. Not a whole lotta prospects at this point. My knee is still jacked up so I'm gonna have to keep going to the gym 5 days a week. I have a few ideas. Maybe I can find a part time job where I won't have to stand up. Hmmm.... I don't know, I haven't been this broke in about 4 months. We'll see what happens.

Hands: 1400
Roll: $990
How I played: Damn. I played decent in my opinion, but I got destroyed for 4 hours straight. Ran like trash. Made one dumb bluff on a FH/quad type board that cost me $40 but aside from that I just got destroyed. Oh well.
-70 JJ overpair vs Q high flush draw ai on flop, 53% to win
-45 q high fd + gutter loses to aj tp 54% to win
-50 QQ vs shortie w KK preflop ai yay
+90 aa ai preflop vs a7 off
-50 next hand ak tp vs shortie n A7 off donk disgusting cooler here
+85 w K high 1 card flush on river vs overe betting donk
-16 $ all in good with AJ tp vs rivered 10 high flush yuck
Saturday, December 13, 2008
Hands: 900
Roll: $1250
How I played: I played decent today. Ran like crap.
-100 Flopped straight AI on flop loses to set that fills up
-100 KK finds AA
-80 JJ OOP I 3 bet pre, flop a set and lose to A5 suited that flopped a flush
+80 AQ top two vs AJ stubborn tp who thought I was tilting
+55 K5 two pair ip vs KQ tp
Mistakes: I played my best today. Didn't get around to taking break every hour. Maybe today is the day.
Friday, December 12, 2008
Hands: 1300
Roll: $1500
How I played: I played decent today. Ran like crap. Lost $100 with 77 bottom set ai on turn vs top two. I was 91% to win the hand and it was my biggest hand of the day.
Mistakes: Hour 3 I tilted pretty hard from just getting worn out. Gotta take a 15 minute break/hour tomorrow. I also tilted and started limping with lots of shit hands like K7 suited etc from late position. Lost $10 oop w K6 one time. Lost $25 with a limped J9 suited another time. And a few other similar travesties. I gotta work on my game and limit my mistakes.
Thursday, December 11, 2008
Hands: 1500
Roll: $1650
How I played: I played decent today. Raised lots of trash hands on the button which is something I need to do more often. Also important that I put opponents on a range, and evaluate each decision as it comes to me taking no street for granted. These are my 3 areas I need to improve on.
Mistakes: Made 1 very bad mistake where I raised with QQ, flopped a set, donkey bet $38 into me on turn, and I called instead of shoving. River made a 4 to straight board, and i had to fold to a river shove -$50

7th-Ramon arrived, went to bar. 2 hours of play after going to $1 movie theater.

9th-2 1/2 hours of play before meeting with Ramon at CPK Ala Moana. Won $0
10th -Wednesday 10th- 3hours of play, finished even at $1250. KK got 2 outered ai vs 77 on low flop, I was 88% to win -100
AQ AI preflop loses to 74 suited -60. These are two of the biggest pots of the day for me, and I lost despite being in way ahead.
Friday, December 5, 2008
Hours played: 4.5
Hands played: 1800
Rolls: 1230
How I played: I think I played OK, don't think i ran all that good. Connected the SB too much and limped into a few pots late. Next session don't do this.
Hands of interest:
+37 JJ IP low flop vs AQ suited draw
+75 J high flush ip vs reluctant to fold AQ oop, i priced him in to pay on the river
-45 AI w TP on flop, got 2 outered by A9
-20 2 outered again, i had AK he had A10 this time
-50 w KK overpair AI on turn, got 3 outered
Note: I would be + today if I had ran at expectation.

December 3rd
4 1/2 hours of play 1848 hands
Roll has dwindled down to $1219.
I feel like someone who has been starving to death on a deserted island or something. Played 3 days of poker against garbage players and I'm down $170 as a result of it. My soul is feeling crushed at this point. It's not like its a bad run, just down a couple of buy-ins, but poker is starting to eat away at me. The grind of losing again and again to bad players makes me hate the damn rake. If it wasn't for the rake, I'd be even despite AQ
Tuesday, December 2, 2008
Hands of importance:
- -$50 bluffing w AJ off vs a guy w K7 off top pair, he bet 1 into 15 oop on flop, i thought he had FD
- -60 QQ AI vs shorstacker w AA
- -45 AK TPTK vs QQ turned set
- -60 AK AI preflop vs shortie w AA
- -35 ai w JJ vs QQ
- --70 AI on a flop 375 flop w QQ vs A2 Offsuit
- +100 88 FH vs QJ top trips, I was out of position, he put in a big turn raise, so I chck called river shove
- +71 99 flopped FH vs tag in sb who turned smaller FH w 64 suited
- -$40, 3 betting AK oop, shoving flop vs short stacker who had KQ tp obv
- -35 racing AK vs JJ
Daily Grind: Today was a tough day, at one point I dropped $400 in an hour and I tilted hard. Gonna have to break my sessions down to an hour each in order to avoid tilt.
How I Played: I played alright until I was hit with 4 straight coolers. Then I tilted and my play was borderline +EV. I began to look at the computer screen and see pure rage for a while. My second 3 hours I played solid in my opinion, coulda been more relaxed when I played which woulda made my decision process more on point. Towards the end of my day I felt like a poker zombie who was grinding out hand after hand in order to earn my $3 an hour or whatever of rakeback. When I play for a long time and I'm still down $ it feels like I'm going through .25 NL or .5 NL grinding struggles all over again. A couple of good runs at $1 NL should help me out. This is only my 2nd month at $1NL, gotta pull it together.
1 hour of play
334 hands
+120
How I played: I think I played well because I was clearly +ev in this session. I found 3 donks who were calling raising preflop with marginal hands and losing large pots with hands like 95 offsuit 4th pair.
For example, I started by losing a race of JJ vs KJ all in preflop -$50, I also lost $20 with A10 2nd pair vs a donk and I lost $15 on the button calling 1/2 pot bets 3 way with the nut flush draw +3rd pair that never improved.
I rallied back by set over setting a donk HU for $130 and getting it all in vs him for the rest of his stack with JJ vs his A4 off on a 234 flop.
Mistakes I made: There were a few minutes where I was caught up in one table and I found myself in a hand at another table with no reads cuz I wasn't really paying attention. This wasn't a problem back when I was using my other computer cuz PT was running smoother, while I use my backup CPU I gotta figure out a way to avoid this.
My current computer problems are:
- Slow computer, PT running causes the action to freeze
- Poorly lit monitor that agitates my eyes
- A small screen 13 or 14" is not good for multitabling.
- USB ports broken, mouse not working
- Sytem is infected by viruses, my web browsers keep crashing and there are security issues
There were also a few spots where I called in the SB with a small pocket pair HU oop vs a good tag which was bad cuz his range was wide. And a few spots where I limped in with marginal holdings, and a few other spots where I shoulda folded pre.

November Wrap Up

November Breakdown
82 hours played
1140 profit
14/hour
My biggest issue with this month is that I was lazy about keeping track of my sessions and I didn't make my sessions clean. I need to sit at the computer for 1-2 hours and focus on poker. No email, no surfing the internet, no youtube, no myspace, no facebook. Then when my session is over I need to get in the habit of restarting the computer.
This month I was challenged by a 4 day flu, computer issues on both computers, as well as knee attention issues. I didn't deal with these challenges very well, and I reverted back to some of my old tilting ways. I also broke tons of my poker rules. So many that I'm gonna list them all right here cuz I need a refresher.
November was a failure. Hoping for good things from November and that I am able to learn from these mistakes. I broke every one of my rules this month and that is why I didn't have a higher hourly win rate.
My Poker Rules
- Take a break every 1 hour of play
- Do not play when on tilt
- 3 table before I 4 table in order to get reads
- Do not play without PT stats of each player up and running
- Do not play on Sundays
- If I cannot recognize who the donk is at a table who I have a big edge over, leave the table immediately.
- Do not sit at tables with lags on my left.
- Do not play marginal hands preflop.
- No surfing the net, checking email, listening to music while I play.
- Make my sessions clean, get on, play for a block of time, then GET OFF THE COMPUTER
- Keep track of how many hands I play per day.
- Keep track of how many hours I play per day.
- Do not constantly think about my bankroll size or my current loss/profit for the day.
- Do not play marginal hands out of position. Tighten up out of position.
- Do not play sick, physically or mentally.
- Take care of important stuff before I play poker, bathing, brushing, errands, tasks, etc.
- Give my maximum attention to each hand that I play
- Think about whether to bet, raise, or fold, each time I make a decision

Up $380 this morning, don't think I played all that great, though better than last night, I just ran good hitting monster hand after monster hand.
Kept thinking I would finish this month at 2K but thats a random goal. At this point I'm just hoping to play every hand as best I can. Trying to focus on no knowing my bankroll, bonus amount or rakeback amount every second I'm playing. I don't wanna know any of that stuff, just wanna focus on my play.

My roll is at $770. Felt like I ran bad today. Played about 1200 hands today I think.
Lost a lot of small pots, didn't get much action on my big hands. Not sure what else to say. Went over all my hands in PT 2, can't find anything I'd do different.
There is a hand where I check called all in w JJ 3 bet bet oop on a low flop on turn. The guy was nitty but he had 3 bet my AQ to 15 the hand before so I just went with my JJ.
Later vs the same guy, he raised to 3 pre, I thought this looked weak so I 3 bet w AJ off on the button and cbet, he min raised to $36 on the flop and I had to fold my A high. I gotta find weaker players who will give me action soon.
Roll is at $800
1000 hands played. 3 hours played.
Donked off like $50 out of frustration at one point.
Running bad started to effect my play a lot.
-$55 KK flopped set vs j 10 that rivered straight
-$35 KK oop vs j9 that turned two pair
-$30 w AQ two pair vs shorstacker who rivered straight on button w kj off
-$30 straight vs bigger straight, so no chop-$25 top two j 10 vs turned stra8t short stacker
-$45 nut straight vs quads
-$35 oop w a7 2nd pair donking off
-$250 today
Overall I'm satisifed w my play.
R a few things I coulda done better tho. Stick with 3 tables instead of 4 unless I already have good reads on who is who. Table select a little better. Do not play when I have a lost/no reads feel for poker atm.

October Wrap Up

October was an interesting n unique month as far as poker goes. I started the month with a $2K roll and feeling the need to take a shot at $100NL due to my carpal tunnel and overall loss of interest in .25-.5 poker. So take a shot I did. In my first 10K hands at 100NL I proceeded to lose $700, $200 of which I was able to get back.
So on October 15th I was down and out, sitting with a $1500 bankroll and a hard headed persistence to stick at 100Nl despite not winning. I got a lesson from a successful bodog $600 NL regular and things turned around. In the two week period from October 15th-October 30th I built a $100 bankroll on Bodog into a $3000 bankroll on Bodog plus $180 on AP for a monthly total of $3180 and finishing the month +2480.
I am starting October with $3000 on Bodog and $180 in Absolute Poker.
My plan is to continue at $100NL Bodog and to try to win enough that at the beginning of next month, December, my bankroll will have grown.
For the time being I feel relieved but I need to stay vigilant.

The Push to Kick the Addiction
Tuesday, March 4, 2008
I'm still alive...BARELY

In the last 3 weeks I've been hanging tought at 1/2 200 max heads up and 6 seat...
I stumbled onto $1/$2 after winning $2000 there in two days about 3 weeks ago. Since then I've just been getting fucked...to make a long story short my bankroll went from $2300 to about $1400 which doesn't seem like a big drop but I withdrew about $1000 so I'm down to $400 which is pretty fucking weak.
My biggest accomplishment lately is that I've been playing a lot of $1/$2 and I've been taking "shots" at $300 max, $400 max, $600 max, and I even took a shot at $1000 max. I have no problem playing pots of any size. Its a fucking miracle that I've been able to play all of these big limit no limit games on my measly ass bankroll. The main issue though is that I haven't had any big winning days in 3 weeks and with all the other stuff I've got going on in my life I don't really have time to play poker and take it seriously cuz it's low on my priority list.
Today is March 3rd, if I had to take a guess I'd say that I'm up about $1500 in the last 2 months (playing part time a few nights a week). This isn't bad, and I'm happy to be winning, but I'm still not sure if I'm a winning player and I feel like I've been putting all of my poker energy into simply moving up levels and moving to short handed games and heads up games rather than really getting good at any particular type of no-limit hold'em. I've also been sacrificing thousands of dollars of my bankroll to get used to the various bet sizes and strategies at these new short handed higher limit games that I've been playing.
I'm happy with what I've accomplished but I'm discouraged because I've been playing poker for 9 months now (which is not a long time) and I have still yet to make a significant profit to justify the time that I've put into playing poker online at night time.

8 More Hours of Play-Up and Down-Finished Up
I started raising 4bb+1 per limper preflop and it has increased the size of the pots I play. Playing bigger pots in position has led me to add a number of bluffs to my range...with mixed results. I'm experimenting with pot size bluffs on boards that are super dynamic. I've also been practicing plays such as check raising 3x with a variety of hands, and blowing pots up when people try to cbet me. I am generally working on being more AGGGRREEESSSIVE.
I've noticed so far that playing bigger pots means that small mistakes are more costly. In this last session I made several incorrect errors just because I failed to consider all of my options and I easily lost a buy-in doing this. I'm trying hard to focus more on each decision. When the action is coming to me, I need to take a few seconds to consider the value of checking/betting/folding.
Summary: 8 Hours of Play +$70
Monday, January 28, 2008
So day one with my new roll went ....ok. I started off losing 3 quick buy-ins. I got impatient when I was card dead and made the following horrendous plays:
1. Re-re raising all in on flop oop for 100bb with KK overpair vs super duper nitty guy who made a huge flop raise vs me with a flopped set.
2. Stacking off oop with A 10 top pair vs super nitty guy who flat called w AA preflop.
I also ran bad at first:
1. Losing all in on river with nut full house vs guy who rivered a straight flush (both of his cards played and he called without odds)
2. Getting two outered all in on flop with flopped set vs AA over pair sucking out on me.
After losing these 4 buy-ins and tilting between 4-7pm it wasn't until 4am, 9 hours later that I was able to rally back. I started the day w $1000, dropped to around $700 in a few hours and finished the day at $1150.
Here is how I stacked people:
1. Reraise to 12 pre w aa in position. Pot flop shove turn vs donk w q 10 top pair.
2. QQ all in on turn vs guy with AJ TPTK.
3. Guy bluffing into me all in while I held l card A high nut flush.
4. Calling a river shove with flopped flush on river that paired board vs guy bluffing "a full house"
5. Set mining a guy with AA, all in on the flop and not getting sucked out on.
6. All in on flop with set vs guy who check reraise shoved flop with A high flush draw and didn't suck out.
The battle continues...stay tuned. I need some tuition $.
Thursday, January 24, 2008

After 3 months of not blogging I'm back and with some good news. For the month of December and January I am up $2000. In fact I've already withdrawn into savings/spent the $ so I have 0% chance of losing that $.
This is pretty much the 1st time that I've made any real $ playing poker after 8 months of play since I first started last May.
I've had some success lately due to...1. Being more aggresive and 2. Playing short handed 6 seat tables instead of full-ring.
Well my current bankroll is a measly $220 after all my withdrawing...I'm looking to build it back up to around $1000...let's do it again! ...A couple more times....let's pay for some tuition!!!
